southsea house

This Victorian terraced house, located in historic Southsea, had a tired kitchen and lacked any relationship with its garden.

Rather than extend to the rear and encroach upon more garden space, we proposed to remove the low quality 1970s single storey addition and open up the back of the house with full height glazing. This simple intervention, alongside the addition of a small side extension creates a large contemporary kitchen with a seamless transition between inside and outside space.

Alongside these ground floor modifications, we also designed a loft extension to create additional bedrooms, converted the basement into a studio and linked the two together with a new stairwell.
