railway cottage

Built in 1880, this charming cottage was built for railway workers and had a lot of potential, but without heating, hot water or working plumbing, it was in desperate need of repair and modernisation.

We created a playful design for the extension, renovation and landscape that brings light into the house whilst opening up the spaces for modern living.

The Staffordshire Blue brickwork uses different bonding patterns to bring visual interest to the extension, while blending in with the grey tones of the knapped flint and slate roof. The bespoke green windows disappear into the lush greenery and can open up completely to blend the living space into the garden.
