Valley house was built in the 1960s, perched on a steep slope in the Test Valley. Because of this challenging topography, the house is split over multiple levels and much of it enclosed by a large clay roof. This resulted in a dark and confusing interior.

Through the construction of a mezzanine extension and some simple internal interventions, we were able to open the house up and create some beautiful spaces, bring natural light into the centre of the building and capture views over the well established garden and into the valley beyond.

The project is currently undergoing stage 4 - technical design and is due for completion 2026.
